Terms & Conditions
Clear, fair, and compliant booking terms for your ceremony.
Our Commitment to Clarity
These Terms & Conditions outline the agreement between Ceremonies.Scot and the couple booking a ceremony with us. They ensure transparency, fairness, and a shared understanding of responsibilities on both sides. By paying your deposit, you agree to the terms below.
Booking & Deposit
A £150 deposit is required to secure your ceremony date. This deposit is non‑refundable after the 14‑day cooling‑off period. If you change your mind within 14 days of booking, your deposit will be refunded in full.
Payment of the Balance
Your remaining balance becomes payable three months before your ceremony. If the balance is not paid before the ceremony date, the ceremony may not take place. If you cancel within three months of the ceremony date, the full balance remains payable.
Required Information
All questionnaires and ceremony information must be returned no later than one month before the ceremony. If the required information is not provided by this deadline, we may be unable to conduct your ceremony in full. In this case, all deposits are non‑refundable and the full balance remains payable.
Celebrant Availability
If your preferred celebrant becomes unavailable due to illness or emergency, we will arrange a suitable alternative. If we are unable to provide an alternative celebrant, our liability is limited to a full refund of all monies paid.
Celebrant Responsibilities
We ensure that your celebrant arrives on time, fully prepared, and equipped to conduct your ceremony with professionalism and care.
Legal Requirements
It is your responsibility to ensure the Marriage Schedule is available for inspection before the ceremony begins. If errors or missing documentation prevent the legal marriage from taking place, our contractual obligations will be considered fulfilled. The schedule must be signed using a fountain pen with archival‑quality ink, which your celebrant will provide.
Changes to Ceremony Details
Minor changes (such as readings or music) can be made up to one month before the ceremony. Major changes (such as venue or date) may require a new booking and may incur additional fees.
Liability
Our total liability is limited to the amount you have paid us. We are not responsible for registrar errors, venue issues, weather, travel disruptions, or any indirect or consequential losses.
Acceptance of Terms
By paying your deposit, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you have any questions or need clarification, please contact us — we’re always happy to help.
