Poetry and Readings

A moment of warmth, humour, or reflection

Readings can add a lovely tone to your ceremony — something heartfelt, light‑hearted, or simply meaningful to you both. This page gives you a simple overview so you can choose one or two pieces that feel right for you when you complete your form.

You’ll find a full list of poems and readings in your Ceremony Planning Guide — all arranged in the same order as they appear in your JotForm.

Choosing a Reading

You’re welcome to:

  • choose one from the Guide
  • bring your own poem, passage, or lyric
  • keep things simple and have no reading at all

There’s no expectation to search widely or find something “perfect.” If something in the Guide speaks to you, that’s more than enough.

What We Need From You

When you complete your form, you’ll be asked for:

  • the title
  • the author
  • who will be reading it (a guest or your celebrant)

If you’re choosing from the Guide, you can simply select it by name — everything is already listed in the same order to make it easy.

If someone else is reading it, we’ll make sure they have a clean copy and know when their moment is coming.

Using Your Own Reading

If you already have something special in mind, you can include it in your form. Just let us know:

  • the title
  • the author
  • the full text (so we can format it clearly in your ceremony script)
  • who will be reading it

We’ll take care of the rest behind the scenes.

A Little Reassurance

You don’t need to choose a reading — and you don’t need to go hunting for anything extra. If something in the Guide feels right, lovely. If not, your ceremony will still feel complete and personal.
